Day 8: Going Home

In the morning of departure everyone is given a group number and a time and place to meet on the ship. When customs is ready for a group to exit the ship, a staff member leads the group off the ship. The area of the ship we met at had this awesome ship in a display window. 

 After claiming our luggage and getting through customs, we found a taxi to take us to the airport. We said our last good byes to our ship as we drove out of the customs area.

 As we were heading to the airport Shawn asked the taxi driver if he knew of any place to get a green coconut. Sure enough, he took us on a detour and then we found this cute little ma and pa cafe on the side of the road. We decided we like the older, brown coconut better. The green coconut is jell like on the inside and bitter to the taste. The milk is also more bitter but there is more juice also. 

 We were at the airport for about 2 hours, and then our flight was delayed about 45 minutes. Even though it was delayed, we still got to Orlando on time.

Our gate was across the terminal from our next flight and they were boarding the flight before ours when we landed. We went and got some frozen yogurt and came back the the plane was still sitting there... It took forever for that flight to finally leave, then our plane arrived, unloaded, got restocked and  we were ready to board....then we were told the runway was closed due to thunderstorms. Needless to say, we left Orlando about 1 1/2 hours late.

After what seemed like forever we got to Denver, located our baggage claim and waited and waited. I then realized why I usually carry my luggage on board.  It was a very long day (started at 7am eastern time and we got home at 12:30am Mountain time). We had bad weather, a really huge thunderstorm coming into Fort Collins and  that too slowed us down. After we got home, and climbed into bed, I prayed that the kids didn't wake up at 6am. We were lucky. They waiting till 8.
