Camping 2011

This year, we took the long weekend Shawn had for the 4th of July and went camping. We never have gone camping on the 4th, but it was fun, and mostly quiet. We went to Lake Hill in the Ephraim Canyon just outside Ephraim Utah. On Sunday, the 3rd, we drove up to the top of the mountain and found snow to play in. The sight was beautiful and the snow was fun.

No everyone can say they have had a snowball fight in July, but we have. It's also not very common to not have coats on when your playing in the snow, but it was a nice 65 degree's and felt somewhat warm.
At our camp ground, we walked around the "lake", went fishing, made smores and fought off the mosquitoes the best we could. This was probably the worst spot we have chosen for camping for a number of reasons, the mosquitoes being the first one. There were not any kid campers here, just day time visitors. It was hard on Emma to not have any kid friends this year at our camping spot.

I didn't do much fishing at all, I usually helped real in the kids fish, and that was the extent of my fishing.
Mason on the other hand, he started out the first day and caught like 7 in the first 30 minutes they were there. We started to catch and release with him. He must be really good at fishing cause no one else around the lake could catch anything.
One of the last days there Paige caught this white trout. Shawn kept it just cause it was white. She was super happy with her catch! She caught other fish during the week, but this is the only good picture I have with her and a fish she caught.
After a few days of helping the kids catch fish, Shawn finally caught one him self. It's been a while since he has gotten any good fishing time, and this time was no different.
And on our very last day, Emma finally caught her first catch of the trip. She was finally relieved that she wasn't going home empty handed!
Because I still had some morning sickness, our camping this year was down key a lot. We are all hoping for a better experience next year and hope that our location is a lot better too!
