Young Living Lavender Farm

In Mona, Utah Young Living Essential Oils has a lavender farm. They also have farms through out Utah, Idaho and in France. Mona isn't very far from Payson, about a 15-20 minute drive or less. The weekend before this field trip, all of us, but Emma got sick. I was so afraid that Mason was going to miss his last week of school because he was sick. He got better and was able to make it, and thankfully a neighbor came through at the last minute to watch Paige.
Mason loves the bus. He loved the bus more when Mom was on the bus with him. We talked about all the different things we saw on the way to the farm and when we got there, he was excited to get off and explore. The weekend before this, it rained a lot. All weekend it rained!
As the bus was turning around, the front tire sunk in the mud and we got stuck, really stuck. They had to pull out some of the big tractors to pull the bus out. It didn't phase the kids, they were carried by the adults back to the gravel and the fun began.

We first took a ride on a wagon pulled by some big Clydesdale horses and the kids loved riding in the big wagon. We rode to the animals and saw a donkey/zebra, sheep, goats, camels, bison and llamas. If the animals didn't bite I am sure we could have touched them, but we were told that many of the animals bite and to stay away.

After the wagon ride we got to go and plant some sunflower seeds and have a snack. After we were done snacking we had a little time to play on the playground. It was a really fun place to take the kids. I hope that we can go back as a family to see it again.


Mason's class also took another field trip on Thursday, but I stayed home with Paige and did laundry. His last day of school we took some thank you cards to his teacher and the aides that work in the class room. We also got to say good bye to Megan his speech therapist who is moving to a different school in Spanish Fork next year. It was bitter sweet to see them and to say good bye for the summer. Mason still talks about all his teachers and I am sure he is looking forward to seeing them again.
