Opperation: FHE

We had this great idea to go to Temple Square in Salt Lake City for FHE last night. Shawn had the day off and it seemed to be a good time to go. We left early and parked in Sandy and rode trax up to Salt Lake. The kids LOVED riding trax. It was most likely the highlight of their evening.
Emma was glued to the window watching everything that we passed. When we got into town and the train slowed down and stopped at lights she was concerned as to why it wasn't going faster and why it kept stopping.
Mason was so good. It thought it was funny to try and fall on the ground when the train started going. This kids could almost live on a train I am sure. He was in heaven and was so sad when it was time to get off.
Paige was a bit restless cause she wanted to get down and walk around (not the greatest idea). We let her stand next to the window for a while and she seemed to be happier having a bit more freedom than being in our arms. She was too cute with the other passengers waiving to them and saying good bye when they got off. She brought lots of smiles to those around us.

When we got to down town, we walked 4 blocks to the Macaroni Grill. This is the first sit down we have taken the kids to in a LONG time. Usually we want to leave before we ever order the food due to kids being kids, but last night, the kids were W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L! We couldn't have asked them to be any better. We had yummy food and there was not acting out at all. Maybe there is hope for us yet.

From the Macaroni Grill, we headed 1 block over to get back on trax to go up 4 blocks, but when trax showed up we decided to walk the 4 blocks again. The train was packed to capacity. No way were we going to fit on, and bring the stoller.
When we got to temple square the lites we exquisit! What an amazing display! Emma and I ended up running to the visitors center for her to use the bathroom only to find a huge line. I did what I never have ever done before and cut to the beginning of the line and begged the lady to let Emma go next. I felt like the person that I always get mad at for cuting, but a mama does what shes gotta do.

We then walked around the square and looked at the lights, took a few pictures and had Emma take this one of Shawn and I.
We then took one of the kids.
and then had someone who was just walking by take this one for us. We love that the temple was our back drop!
We then went back to trax and got on a train with standing room only. Thankfully we had some help getting on with the stroller, and a nice lady gave her seat to Emma and Mason and they pretty much sat on one another. The ride to temple square was definitely more fun that the ride back. When we got to the van we put pj's on the kids, laid their seats back and said good night. They slept all the way home, and when it was time for Mason to get up for school this morning, he didn't want to wake up. We had so much fun. We plan and making this one of our new family traditions while we are living in Utah, but we will not do it next year on the Monday before Christmas!
