Shawn and I met up in our stateroom after our shore excursions and decided to go back into Antigua to find some green coconuts. We found some mango's, a native music noisemaker for the kids, and got our portrait drawn on the way back to the ship, but no green coconuts.
Leaving the Islands was fun to watch each night. Navigating the massive ship out of port was done differently at each destination. Leaving St. John we pulled straight out as the ship was backed into the port in the morning. It was so breathtaking seeing the shore and all the different beaches. We really wish that we would have had more time here in St. John.
For insurance reasons the dock has a captain take the ship out of port and into port at each stop. The cruise lines don't want to pay the added insurance to have their captains park and unpark the ship, so these boats bring the captain to the ship in the morning, then follow the ship out of the port and pick the captain up in evening. It was fun to watch the pick up each evening, and it was usually done on our side of the ship.
After we showered and cleaned up from our day time activities we headed over to the Theater to see Sideshow Bert. He did a comedy, magic and juggling show before we headed to the dining room for dinner.
Burt has done shows in Vegas, and he was good. The show was shorter than I had thought it would be, but it was good nonetheless.
Just before dinner, we went and got our mugshots taken. This wasn't a very good night for pictures in my opinion. I didn't put on any make up (trying to hurry to make it to see Burt) and didn't do much with my hair (same reason). These are the only two pictures I like from that evening. The rest of them my skin looks as red as my shirt even though I didn't have a sunburn.
Across from our table up stains was the stair case leading to the lower level of the dining room. All the wait staff were assembling together on the stair case to sing to everyone in the dinning room.
We ate dinner each evening with these wonderful people. Left to right, Victor, Toni, Maria, Athena, Me and Shawn. Victor and Toni are from Maryland, Maria lives in New York City, and her sister Athena is from Greece. It was so fun to get to know and visit with these wonderful people each evening.
After dinner we went to the Love & Marriage game show where a newly wed couple, middle years couple and the old timers couple were selected out of the audience. Victor and Toni were selected to represent the middle years. The couple to right were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at the end of the cruise. They were all a hoot to watch and listen too. Much laughter erupted through out the theater during this game.
After the show, we were ready to crash. What a long, long, busy, fun, exciting and fulfilling day. This little guy greeted up back to our stateroom, and tucked us in.
