While watching Conference on Sunday April 1, Emma pointed out that she had 2 new teeth growing in behind her two front bottom teeth. Sure enough there were 2 teeth there and they were very visible.
Shawn asked her if her teeth were loose, which she said no to, but after further investigation, we found out they were loose, and the challenge to get them out began. We gave her a few days to work on wiggling it, and we helped and then came the big night. Her right side tooth had to come out. So Shawn got the floss. Do you know that the floss they have now is not like the thread floss we had as kids. Shawn tried several times to get it on, to which each time it came off or came untied, or just broke.
He went to his vet box and got some suture. It worked, but not tonight. Emma decided that it hurt too much and we all decided to give her a few more days.
After bribing her with a dollar, or a Wii rental to just try (to which she declined), Shawn finally bribed her to stay up late and watch part of The Voice on NBC. She was all game with that. So on Monday, April 9, the suture got tied around her tooth again and the pulling started.....
and ended with a girl who had big tears, a happy smile and one less tooth.
She started to cry because it hurt, but she didn't realize it came out. After she realized it was gone and we weren't going to be tugging on it anymore, the smile returned.
She held on to her tooth for a night, then placed it under her pillow for the tooth fairy to come and retrieve. She was so excited to get a gold dollar coin. I didn't get a picture of her coin as it was 6:30 am and I was still sleeping when she came in to show us. Now it rests in her piggy bank.
