"Oh Christmas Tree"

"I believe in playing in Boxes, especially if there is a artificial Christmas Tree in it"!

One of Mason's favorite pass times it playing in large boxes. When we pulled out the Christmas tree box, his eyes got wide and it was all he could do to wait till some of the tree was taken out so he could get in.

This was the most he did in helping put up the tree! When the box was all empty, we took him out and put the box away (so we can store the tree in it when we are done). He decided that his job was to go into the kitchen and play with the bouncy ball. He showed no interest in putting the lights or ornaments on the tree!

Emma, on the other hand, loved helping put up the tree with her daddy! When it got too high up for her to reach anymore, (which didn't take long) she handed the branches to Shawn and I to put them on. It is so fun to see how much she wants to get involved in helping.

So Emma was given the job to putting the Angel on the top of the tree. When we went to plug her in so her lights would light up, she didn't work. So Shawn took her down, and replaced some lights, and she worked.

We were so happy that she started glowing again!

This is the way we put on the lights! When we pulled out the lights we plugged them in and not one of the strands of lights were working. Shawn messed with them for most of the day (We started this at 9:30am)! By 3:00pm he was able to get one set working, but the other sets had not changed at all. So we went and bought new lights, with a tester. Shawn tested all the lights and some were good, and some didn't even register. We decided that we had taken more time on them then they were worth, so we just used the new lights. At this time, Jodi was off work and had come to help finish decorating the tree. Emma knows the best ways to help... although Shawn did not agree completely.
