Shawn worked on his birthday, actually, he was on call. We still decided to party knowing that he could get called away and the party would have to be finished the next evening. Carter was pretty tired of waiting form him to come home and fell asleep sitting next to Emma on the couch.
Shawn got a baseball mitt so he could play catch with the kids. He was pretty excited about it. He also got some shirts for work from Mason. Emma bought him a book on amazon and it shipped to the wrong address, so it came after his birthday.
Shawn requested an Ice Cream cake, so I made him one. I used a cookies and cream Ice Cream for the base, then layered some hard shell chocolate, hot fudge and cookie crumbs in the center. I then filled the rest of the pan with chocolate ice cream. On top there is milk chocolate fudge and cookies crumbs. It was so good.
This is actually the second attempt to blowing out the candles. The first attempt, all the kids did it for him.
He had a successfully Happy Birthday. We look forward to spending many more with him too.
