Welcome Home

We had Carter on December 3. We headed home the evening of December 5. It was my shortest stay in the hospital. Not so sure that was smart on my part, but it is what it is.

Carter wasn't so sure about the carseat, but he finally settled down and did great coming home. We stopped at Rite Aid to get my prescriptions and a few other things and then got me an Ice Cream Sundae at McDonalds and headed home.
None of the kids got to come to the hospital to meet Carter since all of them had sore throats and fevers. We brought face masks home so we could try and keep Carter away from the sicknesses. We got home at 7:30 pm and met the kids who were all in their jammies. Emma was SO excited to finally meet her new brother. She was the only one who was well.
Mason was so happy he finally could hold his baby brother. He could hardly contain his excitement. It was so fun to see him talk to and interact with Carter.
Paige was so tired and was not feeling very well when we got home. She peeked at Carter when we got him, but didn't show any interest. She had a fever, no voice and a terrible cough. I felt so sorry for her and just wanted to cuddle her. Not an easy task right after a c-section. She slept all night and much into the next day. Early afternoon Dec. 6 Shawn helped Paige take a bath and get all cleaned up. After she was dressed, she was ready to see Carter and hold him.
I wish the kids would have been healthy when Carter decided to join us, but we made the best of what we could. We are happy that everyone's health is better and that Carter has turned into the center of attention in our family.
