A New Home for Luckie

With the weather getting bad, and the kids and I absent for a little over a week, Shawn took the initiative to build Luckie a dog house. This is no ordinary house though. It was thought through and planned out for a while now. She started researching dog houses and finding plans for something he had in his mind when we first got Luckie back in June. He's been sleeping in a pet carrier that isn't very warm and the winter wouldn't be a very friendly time in it for him.

When we went to the store to pick out paint colors, we were planning on getting Blue and Orange and make Luckie a Boise State fan also, but we let Mason choose the colors and he didn't want Blue and Orange. So we got a green house. Who would have known that Mason likes green. Good think he didn't pick pink.

It's a nice size for Luckie and its insulated so it keeps him warm at night.

Shawn wanted to see if it was big enough for him and sure enough, he was able to get in and then he almost didn't come out. It's made for a dog, not an adult.

The kids enjoyed the time it was in the house. They played in it and then started asking Shawn if he'd build them a house for outside. I just laughed and thought "wouldn't that be fun." Maybe, someday.

I am always amazed at Shawn's handy work. He did an awesome job and it will last Luckie his whole life. I am sure he was really happy with the results.
