Emma's Journal ~

I have hopes of putting together a monthly review of each of the kids doings and what stages they are at. I am hoping of doing 1 per week, 3 weeks out of the month. Emma is my first.

Shawn and Emma started Daddy Daughter dates about a year ago. She really looks forward to going out with just Dad. Some times when we would go out and get a babysitter, she would tell me that it was her turn to go out with Dad and I should stay home. Too bad it doesn't happen the way she wants all the time huh?

The last Daddy Daughter date in Pullman was at the Appaloosa Horse Museum in Moscow, ID.

She got to dress up like a cow girl, ride the stick horse, sit on a saddle, and learn to braid a horses mane. When she came home she showed Mason and I the Appaloosa horse figure she bought. It went everywhere with her until it was time to move.

Mason's last day of school was June 4. On the 3rd they had a family day and Emma really enjoyed going to preschool and doing "school activities". They have an area where you can play in shaving cream and Emma spent some good time there making quite a mess. She had it everywhere.

We got to sit and have story time. Emma really wanted to sit right in front of Megan, who was reading to the kids, but decided that sitting in the circle with the rest of the class was okay also.

Right after we left school, we drove to Idaho where Emma and Mason stayed a few days with their Grandma's while Dad, Mom and Paige went to Utah to find a place to live. Grandma Clausen had her birthday while the kids were there, and she took them to the park. They had so much fun there, that while we were driving back to Pullman, Emma told us she wanted to go back to Grandma's house to live.

As we were getting ready to move, Emma was a big help. She helped pack and clean her bathroom. She was most excited to clean the toilet and wear special cleaning gloves.

Grandma and Grandpa Clausen got a new baby calf while we were in Pullman packing the house.

When we stopped there on our move to Utah, Grandma let Emma bottle feed the calf. She thought that was really great.

On the last leg of our move we stopped to go potty in Wendell, Idaho. Emma decided to get Mason, Shawn and herself a lolly pop from her money in her purse. Here is a picture of her eating her sucker.

Emma was so excited to get to her new house. Saturday we set up the bed rooms and Emma was so excited that she stole the camera and took pictures of everything up stairs. I took a picture of her on her bed to solve the picture taking fever. It doesn't look much different from her bed in Pullman.One of the things Emma likes the most about living in Utah is that they have snails. Every time it rains (which has been almost everyday since we have moved here) the snails come out and Emma has to go hunting for them. The first time she found one we were on a family walk. She carried it with her for a while. Today while we were mowing the lawn and doing some house work she notified us she found 2 snails. She named them Kate and Jade. If we would get a aquarium and put them in there for her, she would be in heaven.

Over all this last month has been one of our busiest month as a family. Emma has rolled with the punches and tried had to help out as much as she could. She was able to play with her friends Adam, Meg and all the neighborhood friends right before we moved. She really enjoyed riding in the moving truck and seeing new places. She was so excited to see so many kids to play with in her new neighborhood. We could hardly keep her in the house while we were trying to get the house together. Over all, she is glad she moved, but will still tell us every so often that she misses Pullman and her old house.
